Conservatives gain Shinfield seat in Wokingham Borough from Labour

Well done to Jackie Rance who won the Shinfield by-election on the 5th December. Jackie got 49% of the vote with Labour on 24.8% and Lib Dems on 21.5%, Greens got 4.7%.

The by-election was caused by the resignation of a Labour councillor elected for the first time just 5 months ago. Fantastic result for an excellent hard working candidate.

I was delighted to meet a group of pupils and their parents from HSS who held a debate during Parliament week. The group met in Madjeski Academy and debated topics including whether Social Media should be more controlled to reduce social pressure and bullying.
