Just back from a very interesting tour round Addington School and a chat with the Headmaster and Chair of the trust. Very very useful with clear messages to take back to the council about how we could help them help us and our residents and the impact of government policies on them.
The recent employer's NI increase will have a significant effect on them and they have a lot of staff, I have already written to the Chancellor to point this out as it relates to Council services and social care and the same applies to Addington.
The school is lovely and such a happy and caring environment, I was particularly touched to be befriended in one of the classrooms by a little girl who was singing christmas songs and wanted to show me her learning plan.
Very worthwhile visit. Next stop licencing appeals.
