Earlier this week we were out in the dark talking to residents in Woodley. I must say the darkness highlights the state of the pavements rather well but luckily we managed to stay on our feet. We got a good response and it was nice to chat with lots of residents. One common theme was anger on car parking charges and the Wokingham Borough litter bin debacle. There was also quite a lot of mention of anti social behaviour in the precinct and also illegal immigration, plus concern to keep weekly bin collections.
Another point made by a couple of residents was a request for more SEND spending, I was able to say that the government have recently funded two new SEND schools in Wokingham and also Addington has been given approval to create an off campus extension. Our SEND facilities in Wokingham Borough are very good.
