I was concerned to receive a letter from the CEO of ARC Trust a disabled charity, they have run a 'Friday Night project' at the centre for over ten years and in total, it has been running for 15 years. It caters for 80 to 100 people with learning difficulties and Autism who attend every week with an additional 40 support workers.
Despite claims to the contrary from the Lib Dem Council that all users have been contacted, ARC say they have received NO communication at all and found out via social media. This really isn't good enough, yet again poor communications.
At scrutiny, we were presented with an ill-thought-through proposal to transfer the whole centre to the school on a 125-year lease with no confirmation as to what would be done to support existing users and no explanation why this was necessary rather than just letting the school have exclusive access during the weekdays.
